Victoire Perez

I was born and raised in the French Alps, where I spent every spare moment outside—skiing in the winters, riding horses in the summers, and picking up a paintbrush whenever I could. I started painting in oils at the age of seven, and even then I knew that creating was as natural to me as breathing.

When I moved to Canada’s Sea to Sky region, another passion quickly rooted itself in my life: fly fishing. The quiet rhythm of casting and the thrill of connecting with a fish in wild water became more than a pastime—it became a meditation. Many of my paintings are inspired by those moments on remote rivers, where patience, focus, and respect for nature shape every cast.

Art and fly fishing feed each other in my life. The river teaches me stillness and attentiveness, which I bring back to the studio. Painting, in turn, lets me translate those fleeting, wild experiences into something lasting, bold colors, flowing lines, and a sense of freedom on canvas.

My goal is always the same: to live wildly, create honestly, and share that freedom through my work.

Over the past year, I hves been recognized by British Vogue, interviewed live on Radio-Canada to discuss my artistic journey, and commissioned to create a mural and original artworks for Allegiance Season 2  in Vancouver.

A smaller canvas with a similar portrait is also visible, and the room is lit by natural light from a window on the right.
